Warm or Insufficient Air
In some instances, not all vents are open in a home, making it difficult to cool. Closed vents keep rooms warm and make it harder for your air conditioner to keep up. In some instances, a warm home is a sign that an air conditioner unit is too small for the home it is meant to cool.
If your air filter is clogged, this can also cause your air conditioner to release less cold air into your home. Clogged air filters can cause coils to freeze and impede cool air even more! In some instances, a bad fan or motor can cause your air conditioner to not produce cold air. However, our trained technician will help determine the cause of your system's issue.
Water Leaks
Water leaks inside your home might be caused by a bad or clogged condensate drain line. This causes water to become backed up in the line and overflow into your home. If water is pooling around your unit, it could be a sign of a clogged air filter. However, this could be a sign that your air conditioner needs professional HVAC service.
AC Fan Issues
In some instances, a breaker might be tripped, causing your fan to stop working. If you’ve confirmed that your air conditioner unit’s breaker has not been tripped, you need to call Quincy’s Heating & Air Conditioning for assistance. If your breaker is tripped, it could be a sign of a problem with your HVAC system's electrical.
A broken AC fan can be caused by the following:
Frozen coils
Bad fan belts
Bad capacitors
Dirt
Rust
Air Conditioner Won’t Turn On
If your air conditioner won’t turn on, it could be because the thermostat is not set correctly or has dead batteries. Additionally, your air filter might need to be cleaned or replaced. In other instances, a stuck fan relay, a thermostat short, or a bad thermostat can cause air conditioning to stay off. If your system will not power on at all, it’s time to call an experienced HVAC technician.
